I checked the Forte forum and those who tried that agreed it made things worse! Through experimentation I discovered if I quickly shifted to second gear then accelerated it was normal!. To me it looks like the alternator is charging the battery no matter what the dummy lights say. All of these numbers seem to be in range and like I said, the battery light eventually turns off. Put a load (AC, Radio, Lights) and it drops to 14.3-.2. Get the Right Battery at the Right Price From Firestone Complete Auto Care. Start the engine and it reads about 14.8-14.6 Volts. The Kia dealer did not have A Forte SX 6 speed M/T. First, insert the key into the driver’s door. If I unlock the doors with the fob I have 1 minute to open a door before they re-lock. I discovered my 2010 Kia Forte would not open the trunk with the fob when the key was in the ignition.
